This is the actual house our family of five called home in Tamarindo, now a vacation rental house that sleeps 12, with four bedrooms, four baths, a private pool with a waterfall and rope swing, and a lazy 4-minute walk to the beach. When we're not there, it's yours.

A vacation rental home with our family stories in the walls

Most Costa Rica beach rental homes are investment properties. Casa Colorado is where our kids did homework, where the monkeys stole breakfast, and where our 16 years in Tamarindo turned into 10 Feet Traveling stories. We designed every corner of this rental house for how families actually live: big shared meals, wet swimsuits, and someone always needing quiet.

Every room is air-conditioned, the Wi-Fi is ridiculously fast (Matt uploads 4K video on it), and the separate casita gives grandparents or teens their own front door. It's the Tamarindo vacation rental we wish we could have booked before we moved here.

WHERE IT SITS

Tamarindo, Guanacaste: walk everywhere, drive nowhere

Four minutes on foot to Playa Tamarindo, and the same to town: surf schools, sodas, gelato, and the Saturday feria. Day trips to Rincón de la Vieja's volcano and waterfalls, snorkeling at Playa Conchal, and the slow-day magic of Playa Avellanas, all within an hour. We wrote the guidebook on this town, literally.
